When did you begin to take MMA seriously as a hobby and then as a potential profession:

I joined Cardioflex at age 21 after a close friend had an amateur debut and inspired me to get back to fighting. I joins with full intentions of fighting so from day 1 I have been preparing to compete professionally.

Favourite aspect of training or favourite session of the week, and why:

Wrestling is my favourite sessions. I still get anxious driving to class thinking “I hope I don’t throw up this time…” but there is no better atmosphere than a small, sweaty, log cabin with commonwealth and oceanic champions trying to break each other. That environment is where I thrive. Competing with people that make me grind to get better every day.

What are your greatest strengths as an athlete or a fighter:

My greatest strengths are my composure, my wrestling and my distance control. I learnt from my first fight how important it is to remain composed and focused in a fight. My wrestling ability gives me confidence wherever the fight goes and my distance management means I am always dangerous when the opponent thinks they are safe.

How would you describe your fighting style:

Kung Fu. I am a sponge and learn from any style. I aim to not be boxed into any particular “style” and flow with whatever opportunities present themselves.

What is your favourite sport and why:

MMA is the only sport I watch. No other sport interests me. I don’t watch any other combat sports. I am too busy studying the art of fighting and learning my sport and unlocking my potential.

Who is your favourite athlete:

Georges St Pierre Alistair Overeem Cowboy Cerrone

Who is your favourite combat sports athlete:

Again. GSP Alistair Overeem Cowboy Cerrone

What are your immediate and long term goals:

My immediate goal is to win 3 professional MMA fights this year. My long term goal is to become the best martial artist I can be. Live up to my full potential, and encourage others to do the same.

When fans see your name on a fight poster, what should they expect:

Great fights, performance bonus’ and finishes.

How do you see your upcoming fight playing out:

I trust in my preparation to aid me to victory, whether it is via Devastating KO, or a great 3 round performance. I am confident that the better fighter will win.
