Phillip Kim won the vacant title at Eternal MMA 33 at The Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast on May 5th2018 against New Zealand’s former IMMAF World Champion Brayden Graham.
Due to a injury Philip was unable to defend his belt at Eternal MMA 36 and is looking forward to making his first defence on November 24 on The Gold Coast.
Philip is currently the number 6thranked Australian / New Zealand flyweight via Tapology rankings.

Historically the Eternal Flyweight division has been one of our most exciting, an early rivalry between Tasmania’s Shaun Etchell and the Gold Coast’s Tim Moore saw both hold the title after their two epic encounters. Tim then went on to defend the title against Luke Morris and Sean Gauci in a two year reign as champion before relinquishing the title to take an extended family break. There are currently strong rumours of both former champions returning to the division.

The rivalry between these two began back in Coolangatta at Eternal MMA 6 in 2014. Where a relentless Shaun Etchell, then 3-0, silenced the home crowd with a hard fought victory in one of the very best fights in Eternal History, toppling Tim Moore (6-4). The pair would get to go at it again at Eternal MMA 12, a full twenty six months later. Moore had picked up two wins since that defeat and bounced back to win a decision in yet another three round war. Will we ever get to see a rubber match between these two? we can only hope so.
Tim Moore would go onto defend his belt twice and fight internationally for WSOF Global before reluinquishing it to take an extended family break that may soon be coming to an end.

We have an exciting crop of fighters at flyweight nationally coming through that are going to be looking to challenge Kim for his title. The likes of Paul Loga and Sean Gauci are waiting in the wings looking to get the chance at the belt. And we have a plethora of the very best amateur flyweights in Australia just about ready to go pro and really set this division alight.

The flyweight division has never looked healthier and we are happy to say that Eternal are at the forefront of developing and showcasing this exciting weight class.

MMA pull outs how one boy became a man.

If you are reading this blog then you are probably aware of the rigors of the sport of MMA. If you aren’t then let me assure you that there are few tougher sports in the world to prepare for. By the time ‘real fighters’ reach the cage very few are operating at 100% both mentally and physically. The reason I say ‘real’ fighters is that there seems to be a bunch of ‘facebook’ fighters these days who as soon as they get a profile picture made by the promoter for their social media they all of a sudden get injured or can’t make the date or the dog ate their homework.
