ETERNAL MMA 46 - CHAMPS PREDICTIONS 23 Jul 2019

We asked all the current Eternal MMA Australian Champions to give us their predictions for this weekend’s Eternal MMA 46 main card fights and have put their un edited thoughts on the fights below.

Looking down this list we are proud to have all these athletes as our champions in each division, and we can’t remember their ever being a similarly talented bunch of promotional champions anywhere in Australia at any time. We have put the insta handles of each of these fighters next to their name and record, get on and follow them on insta and support the future of Australian MMA.

Shannon Ross (12 – 4) @therealtdelight
Eternal MMA Australian Flyweight Champion

Jimmy O’Brien vs Ty Duncan
I can’t really pick in this one. Both guys coming out of great gyms, one from Integrated MMA and one from The Combat Lab, I actually think this could be fight of the night.

Corbin Robertson vs Dishon Ravindran
I’ll go with Corbin due to coming out of Southside MMA and training under Pasha Stolyar.

Chelsea Hackett vs Danielle Hayes
I’m picking Chelsea Hackett. With a well decorated striking career in Thai and kick boxing she has made the transition in to mma. Having the pleasure to train with Chelsea first hand I’ve seen the dedication and will to win, If you haven’t seen it, check out her last fight on Eternal, she has no quit in her and will not give up a sub, even if her arm is getting over extended. Chelsea tko round 2.

Daniel Almeida vs John Fraser
I’m going with Daniel Almeida. A Brazilian black belt who in his last outing showed us his new dynamic striking with a head kick ko. So I think he will pick up the win where ever the fight goes.

Casey O’Neill vs Jada Ketley
My pick is on Casey O’Neil. With a good amateur career behind her and a purple belt in bjj, I think she will be to good, too well rounded and take the fight where she wants. Current trip over to Tiger and always striving to get better with finding the best coaches around in all areas. I think she is the future of this division, I’m picking 2nd round submission.

Chelsea Hackett win by decision

Daniel Almeida vs John Fraser

Casey O’Neill vs Jada Ketley
king Casey win submission round 1

David Martinez (5 – 0) @the_smiling_assassin_1
Eternal MMA Australian Lightweight Champion

Jimmy O’Brien vs Ty Duncan
I expect a short “feeling out” process before one man connects hard. Both are capable of finishing the other early, but I see Ty being the one to land, forcing O’Brien to shoot where Ty will defend and pick him off for the finish.
Prediction: Ty Duncan (R1 TKO or Sub)

Dishon Ravindran vs Corbin Robertson
Corbin is as tough as they come, and I believe that’ll play to his advantage in this bout. I don’t see a KO coming from either man and I believe there will be a few takedown attempts but not a whole lot of action on the ground. I expect Corbin’s reach and varied strikes to carry him to gritty victory on the judges’ scorecards.
Prediction: Corbin Robertson (Unanimous decision)

Chelsea Hackett vs Danielle Hayes
Hackett is a female terminator with blistering hand speed and leg kicks for days. The result of this one depends on Danielle’s toughness, but I can’t see her being able to deal with the speed and volume of Hackett for the full three rounds.
Prediction: Chelsea Hackett (R2 TKO)

Daniel Almeida vs John Martin Fraser
Here we have an interesting matchup. Almeida has several advantages with a solid black belt in BJJ, 14 pro fights experience and has already established himself as a middleweight. However, Fraser has the tools to frustrate Almeida on the feet with plenty of feints, stance switches and lateral movement. This one ultimately comes down to Fraser’s takedown defence and I do believe his feints and angles will assist him greatly. He may even get a boost in speed provided he has a successful weight cut. Look for Fraser to use his footwork and feints to keep Almeida busy and forced to shoot takedowns from distance making them easier to defend.
Prediction: John Martin Fraser (Unanimous decision)

Casey O’Neill vs Jada Ketley
Jada Ketley is on debut, but we know she’s had plenty of experience in Muay Thai fights and has had a full year to prepare for MMA. O’Neill will have the grappling advantage but she appears to enjoy walking forward and trading blows on the feet. Ketley also comes forward so I see the pair exchanging regularly and falling into clinches where O’Neil will look to push it to the fence, working with strikes and takedowns.
Prediction: Casey O’Neill (Unanimous decision)

Jack Della (6 – 2) @jackdella96
Eternal MMA Welterweight Champion

Jimmy O’Brien vs Ty Duncan
I think Jimmy had a great last outing with Darcy and Ty hasn't competed for a while from what I know, hopefully he has found some steam as he seems a broken man.
However, Ty by UD.

Corbin Robertson vs Dishon Ravindran
Dishon is the man and will take out Corbin by TKO second round.

Chelsea Hackett vs Danielle Hayes
Chelsea Hackett has great striking, she has been at our gym learning from Marc Fiore, showing she is eager to gain wrestling skills, I believe she will win by ground and pound TKO round 3.

Casey O’Neill vs Jada Ketley
Casey O'Neil has a very aggressive style and is on a roll, her grappling skills will prevail with a 1st round Rear naked choke sub.

Corbin Robertson vs Dishon Ravindran
Corbin Robertson

Chelsea Hackett vs Danielle Hayes
